How should my organisation get ready for AI?

Start by assessing readiness, not by buying tools. The ADX AI Readiness Assessment runs in two tiers: a Snapshot of how work flows, where AI is already in use, and where critical thinking gaps sit, then a Deep Dive with process level analysis and a sequenced roadmap. Chapter 8 adds the principle: culture first, because AI amplifies what is there.

The ADX assessment is described on the site as framework led and vendor neutral, with no tools sold off the back of it, and built on the ADX Toolkit rather than on AI hype. It ends, the site says, with decisions, owners, and a sequence, not a report that shelves itself.

  • Tier 1, Readiness Snapshot: a focused review of how work actually flows today, where AI tools are already in use, officially or not, and where the critical thinking gaps sit. It is delivered as a written assessment with a prioritised readiness map: what to fix before any rollout, what can be piloted now, and what to leave alone.
  • Tier 2, Readiness Deep Dive: everything in Tier 1, taken deeper, with process level analysis of candidate workflows, workforce capability and change readiness work with team leads, and a sequenced adoption roadmap your own leaders can run, sequenced by risk and value, not by vendor enthusiasm.

That sequence matches the principle in Chapter 8. AI amplifies the culture it lands in. In a healthy culture it can automate repetitive work and surface insight from data. In a culture of fear or resistance it becomes a monitoring tool or an expensive, unused purchase.

So readiness work is mostly human work: understand the real process, find the thinking gaps, decide what to fix first and what to leave alone, and only then pilot. AI is there to augment human intelligence, not replace the judgement your leaders still have to supply.
